I'm reading Ian Robert's book, Creative Authenticity. It's helping me find myself again in my art. Of course he's not telling me what I didn't know already. But when you're lost, you sometimes need someone else's voice to guide you back to your path. So I'm at the bit where I need to decide what I want to obsess about. And of course the answer is always the sky and the sea. So I don't know why I bother with other things, it's just that some people say you need to have people in paintings and if you're doing cityscapes, you need to have cars. Etc. Etc. I am a people pleaser. That's always been a need I have. But I am at a stage in my life where I need to forget all that, and just think about what I want!
