Bushy Park on a grey (and cold) day

I don't find greens too hard to paint. But I find them so hard to photograph. And I don't have a big scanner. So what you're looking at is completely different from what I have in my sketchbook.

Back to sketching outdoors. But the weather has turned. Gone is the sunshine, blue skies and lovely temperatures. Back to grey and cold.

It poses three problems for artists: 1. there is no visible shadow, no drama, no contrast. 2. watercolour takes forever to dry so you have to wait to turn the page  (and I forgot to bring a second sketchbook with me). 3. you get so cold you just want to be done with it!

But it's so good to be out and about sketching again! Even if the result doesn't look that great!
