The Lord Edward

Lord Edward was involved in the failed uprising of 1798 (Think Robert Emmet, Wolfe Tone). He died of his injuries when he resisted arrest. He is buried in St Werburgh's church down the road to the left.

Funny that there is no mention of this pub in the Architectural Archive website, that I can find anyway. It's an interesting building.

I had intended to sketch from the little outside area in front of the Bull & Castle pub across the way, but there was someone sleeping rough there, so I didn't want to disturb them. I just stood outside and sketched until my fingers were frozen. I added coloured marker when I got home later.
