Everyday objects become so interesting when you sketch them! This was the theme for Dublin Sketchers last week. I really enjoyed sketching this little umbrella/sunshade that Shinobu gave me the last time I was in Japan. I had never used a personal sunshade before, but the sun was intense when we were there (was it in September - towards the end of typhoon season?) and I was glad of it! Plus it's really pretty, with a delicate pattern on the outside and and a soft pink colour lining on the inside! I didn't open it fully for this sketching session - it's bad luck to open an umbrella inside the house. I'm not superstitious, but you never know!!
