It can be tricky to travel with waterproof ink in little vials, particularly when travelling with just hand luggage. So I ordered myself a cheap Platinum pen, with Platinum Carbon ink cartridges! Just as well I decided to test it first though! The ink cartridge that comes with the pen is not waterproof, far from it. Never assume that things are what they seem!
With the ink cartridge that came with the pen - even after 15 minutes, still disappearing under a watercolour wash:
With a Carbon ink cartridge, dried almost instantly and I was able to paint right over it without any bleeding:
