One of the first things we did in Vegas was go to the Apple store, where Brendan had made an appointment to test the Vision Pro. He was really impressed, but felt it was a bit too heavy to wear for more than 20 minutes. Maybe for the next iteration! Plus, it needs a killer app. Our suggestion would be the U2 concert at the Sphere, to be made available to view as an immersive experience! Anyone in Apple, let us know when that happens! He might be tempted then!!
We had great views from out hotel room. This sketch, just done with a yellow Tombow marker, is one of my favourites from our trip. Sometimes, it's the simple things...
They take their lifeguard duties seriously. No phones allowed, full attention to the job, and regular contact by walkie-talkie, plus they rotated quite often. Yes, it was warm enough to sit out! But it got cool quickly as the sun went down. And the music was blaring. Probably to cover the sound of the planes turning after take-off. I found Vegas challenging in terms of noise levels, and also the smell of cigarette smoke drifting off from the casinos.
And all the hotels had the Chinese New Year decorations out in full extreme Las Vegas fashion. Didn't get a chance to sketch them, so here is a photo. One thing that struck me is how long it takes to get from A to B in Vegas. First, you have to get from your room to the lifts, then through casinos and shops, getting across the roads can take ages, as the lights are definitely in favour of cars, and also it's easy to get lost through the hotels, particularly if you're feeling a bit chill!
