Sumi asleep

When Willow, our previous cat, died at the good old age of 18, nearly 2 years ago, I was sorry I hadn't sketched him more. So I'm making up for it with Sumi. Now a 10-month old young cat moves a lot more than an 18-year-old, but he does settle in his little basket for a few hours every afternoon, after a morning of chasing magpies, flies and shadows. So if you're seeing a lot of sketches of Sumi asleep, don't be fooled - he's a very active little fellow. It's just that it's hard to capture him in action!

And of course, Leopold Bloom had a cat, hence the Ulysses quote above, 'why are their tongues so rough? To lap better, all porous holes.'
