Beara Geology - exploring mark-making

Well, after the very dynamic version I did the other day, two to a Quarter Sheet, I decided to have another go, filling a quarter sheet. I should have done a warmup to loosen up my shoulders, so it's a very different feel. I used a big palette knife to drag the paint around and make markers over the settling pigments. I like how it turned out, despite the fact that it doesn't look at all like a mountain any more! The photograph doesn't do justice to the lovely blue sedimentation on the left. Let's call it Abstract Geology 101, and call it done!
