Painted from one of my composition sketches. I am trying to paint from my sketches or thumbnails rather than from the photo I took. Quite a freeing experience, as I'm not tied to every colour or detail from reality. I painted this on a quarter sheet, but cut the format to be longer, which is something that really appeals to me. Probably because I sketch in landscape A4 sketchbooks, often across the two pages, so I do love these long panoramas. And also I take my photos in 16:9. So it's time I painted in that format, don't you think?
