College Green

Before the bike, I had done a more general sketch of the College Green area. Pat had spotted a perfect location to sketch from, at a bus stop, but a few steps up from the hustle and bustle of the street. I started with the seahorse streetlamp, then the tree beside it, and it grew from there. Trinity College in the background. A few people and a Number 16 bus.

That's often how I sketch, without an overall structure, just starting with what attracts me first, and growing the sketch around it. How do you start your sketches?
