The Thunderbolt Kid

Bill Bryson's books are highly entertaining. His latest, The Thunderbolt Kid, in which he tells of his childhood in middle America, is no exception.

But, unfortunately, I also found it highly forgettable. While every page made me smile, the previous page was quickly disappearing from my memory. And I don't think it's a sign of Alzheimer's early onset. I just think the book lacked something, call it substance, call it depth, I'm not sure. It just didn't seem to matter so much.
