A week in Poznan - Urban Sketchers International Symposium

My first time in Poznan. First time in Poland, actually. There was a lot to take in. I was there for a week and still didn't have time to sketch everything I wanted. I was there for the Urban Sketchers Symposium and it was a very special event. Lots of chatting and catching up with people I hadn't seen in a good while. No wonder I was exhausted after it, and lost my voice.

Just loved the city, the people, the food, the vibe. With daily direct flights from Dublin, I would be tempted to go again, if only to prove to myself that I can sketch those amazing buildings!! Yes, my energy was very dispersed, so possibly not my best sketching. But it was fun. Next year, Toulouse. We've booked our hotel already! I will be bringing my pink Neocolors!

Most of the pictures with people were posted in my stories at the time (20-24 August). Now it's just the sketches.

The first one is very different from the rest. I did it during a workshop with Tetiana Ocheredko on the Saturday. It always makes a huge difference to sketch at a workshop. You learn so much. And it gives you confidence to tackle a subject you never thought you could (you will see my previous attempts at the same tower, from much closer and at a distorting angle!!)

Also, Stickers are a big thing nowadays. I can't keep up.

Came back home on Monday - was exhausted. Couldn't even sketch in Stary Browar in the morning, nor my delicious croissant (it tastes like a danish pastry, really) at the airport.

And now we're Thursday, and I have been sick since we got back. Here is today's sketch.
