These little clouds, I painted directly in my studio book. The paper is surprisingly good. It was a regifted gift, with no branding. But I would love to find out if it's acid-free, and if it is, I would definitely buy more. Ideal as a studio book!
I used gouache (adding some watercolour to white gouache to create a lovely sky colour, and softening with clear water. Something I learned from Dolores Phelps in Wild Watercolour. And I will definitely carry this forward into my practise!
