Glendalough III

It's starting to take shape, isn't it? I made the rocks really big (I know they look nothing like the real rocks, only prettier), kept the background dark and abstract (Hooker's Green + Black), and the water lively.

By the way, all these little paintings are done on a fairly small scale, 19x14cm. I've decided to keep to this small format until I feel I've experimented enough with colours and shapes. I find that quite a good way to experiment - I don't have to spend too much time or paint on something that won't work. When I'm ready, then, I move to a larger format, 30x20 cm or thereabouts, as in Bushy Park XIV, for instance

What do you think?
