I always need a bit of time to get to know a city before I feel I can sketch it, so we arrived in Lyon on the Tuesday evening, giving me two full days before the USk France event was starting. Unfortunately, it rained heavily on the Wednesday, with thunder, lightning and downpours. I took refuge in a few shops, including Sephora, Uniqlo and a few art shops we don't have in Dublin. So, my day 1 is really day 2. And I was still in walking-around mode rather than in sketching mode. I did get a bit of time to settle at Place de la Trinité - I felt that was my real start. And I enjoyed sketching the three young men at a café.
Also, brought far too many supplies. On the first evening, I did a cull and ended up carrying only half of what I had brought over! Glad I only brought one sketchbook, though. Stillman & Birn Alpha
