Our little guy is finally settling down. He's always slept well through the nights, but the days were busy looking for things to chase and whack. Now that he has discovered the outdoors, he settles much easier when he comes in in the afternoon. So I have a chance to sketch him when he sleeps. Of course he's a cat so he's always going to turn around when you pick up a pen, but he's a lot calmer than he used to be.
No wonder he's tired - I have seen him in action outdoors - he's got a territory to patrol and protect. I have seen three different cats trying to encroach. I never knew there were so many in the neighbourhood! They're much bigger than him, but that doesn't bother him one bit. Actually last night he ran after a cat twice his size. Nobody messes with Sumi!
'Mr Bloom watched curiously, kindly the lithe black form. Clean to see: the gloss of her sleek hide, the white button under the butt of her tail, the green flashing eyes. '
