I don't often have scones, and this one wasn't particularly good, a bit dry to be honest. But it looked good for sketching. I have to say that reading this line from Ulysses makes me want to bake my own and eat it hot (but I would have to buy butter, which we don't normally keep in the house).
'Buck Mulligan slit a steaming scone in two and plastered butter over its smoking pith. He bit off a soft piece hungrily.'
