Glendalough - painting 1

We had such a lovely morning in Glendalough recently, just before the weather turned wintry again, that I've been feeling the need to paint the scene while it's still fresh in my mind (working from a photo of course, but if I let too much time elapse, I tend to lose the emotion that accompanied the photograph).

So here is my first version. As you can see, I ignored my thumbnails and moved a few trees around. The mountain is a bit more solid than I would like, but overall, I feel I captured the beautiful crispness and light and shade of that morning.
