Life Drawing with Izabella

We had a lovely life drawing session last Friday, with some new types of poses - close-ups - that I really loved. I've been keeping up my online life drawing practise over the last few weeks, but I have to say that it can be tough at times. It's not so much the fact that it's online or from a 2-D image. I'm not a purist. But staring at a relatively small screen for two hours when there's just a model and a white wall can be hard on the eyes and the soul. That's why I do love more interesting settings, costumes, poses and camera angles. And it was fun to have music in the background too! I'm a believer in making the most of the online medium rather than trying to pretend we're in the studio!

Life Drawing - Hayley

Life Drawing with Hayley at Dublin Drawing online. I just love these quiet sessions. At the moment, I'm using ink and a pencil mostly. Not as much Artgraf as I used to, as I'm more interested in learning how to draw the finer details. I've got a long way to go. It will be interesting to see what materials I'll use when we go back to in-person life drawing. For now, I love my Friday evenings without having to get into town!

Life Drawing - Elena

I can't believe it's nearly 2 weeks since this session. I am waaay behind in posting! So, another beautiful session with Dublin Drawing and the lovely Elena!

This is just a shelf with books and a plant that was there in the background, but Tadhg seemed to make a big deal about it, so I had this compulsion to sketch it !

I'm using ink and pencil as well as Artgraf tailor shapes these days

I got more interested in the deck of cards than in the pose!

This is one of my favourites, one minute. No time for anything else!

Life Drawing - Maxime

Best mindfulness session for €6! Life drawing with Dublin Drawing on Zoom every Friday evening! It's laid back, but the moment I start drawing, I'm in the here and now. Great models. Classic poses (and a few whacky ones!). This time I was exploring diluted India ink with Artgraf and pencil. It was a good night after a difficult day. Fantastic model, MaximeArtModel, always finding ways to catch the light!

Life Drawing - Izabella

I didn't get to life drawing last night. But here is my output from last week! Another wonderful life drawing session with Dublin Drawing. This time Izabella used subtle props. I found it really good - sometimes, I think it's hard for me to focus during a two-hour Zoom session with just a model and a contrasting background. My eyes get so tired. The props helped me to focus. Plus it's fun!

Beautiful model, so professional. I wasn't in top form, so these are the only drawings I will share with you.
