Ranelagh sketches

It was the second Sunday in January and it was so mild that it was actually quite pleasant to sit outside and sketch for a couple of hours. We're nearly at the end of our Ranelagh journey and on this occasion, we sketched shopfronts. Everyone picked the view that appealed to them the most. You will find everyone else's work on the Dublin Sketchers blog. You might have to scroll back a few weeks, as I'm way behind in posting on my blog and even further behind on Instagram.

Quite happy with my sketch, apart from the first panel. But I keep asking myself if this is how I want to sketch? I don't suffer from multiple personality disorder, but there is definitely a split personality between Sketcher Marie-Hélène and Painter Marie-Hélène. I would like to experiment more in my sketching. I used to be more experimental, but these days, I tend to revert to just ink (and maybe a little bit of grey marker). It's fairly accurate. But I want more life.

When I was done, I had time for one more panel. I enjoyed doing that one more, I think.
