The days might be getting longer, but there's still a lot of darkness out there. So much sadness. The news are telling us that the numbers are improving, but what if one of the few deaths in a day is someone you know? If anything, it makes it worse. To have got through two months of lockdown, for what?
So, we decided to sketch candles, lanterns, modern lights, ancient lights.
And, it wasn't a conscious decision, but I used negative painting mostly, painting the shadows around the light. I wasn't fast, so I didn't have time to sketch them all. Plus, Deb's flashlight would have looked out of place in this collection. Yet, it is the one that I would want to have in an emergency!
