Another impression of that first morning or two. I worked a good bit in concertina sketchbooks. Too windy to use them outdoors, but I would go outside, maybe have a little walk up the hill, and then go straight back to the studio and try and express what I had felt. Mostly awe at the vastness of the universe. On one of the very few clear nights we had, I went out and looked at the stars. Could see so many more than what we see in Dublin. No wonder the area is a Dark Sky Reserve. Did not paint them, but I am thinking about it.
And here is a picture of that sky - note that there was a full moon rising when I took this photo. I can only imagine what it would have been like at a new moon!
