Cuppa

This is a mug really. Trying out a new sketchbook. The colours went a bit flat. Next time, I'll try a wet-in-wet wash instead.

And a friend of mine was telling me about a creative writing course she went on, where they explored poetry, short stories. And haikus.

I had this little reverse haiku written before I actually checked the rules (5-7-5, if you want to know). But it captured the mood.

Mugged - Nine Times

You thought I had given up on the Mugged series, didn't you? But I've got plenty more mugs to present to you. And of course, I've been peppering them in my other drawings and watercolours without actually naming them as such!

And I do think I'm getting better at them!

Feel free to disagree!

Mugged - Eight times

This is the last of the series. I'm taking a break from mugs!

Mugged - Seven Times

This is starting to look like a mug now. I must keep on practising.

Mugged - oh actually these are flowers

Well, it was going to happen sooner or later. I got fed up drawing mugs. So I turned to flowers instead. A much more forgiving subject.

They were still closed yesterday when I drew them, I'm telling you. I'll have to draw them again now that they have opened up.

But don't worry, there will be more mugs soon.

Mugged - Six Times

I was so fed up with the handle that I just turned the mug around

Mugged - Five times

Let's try pencil now

Mugged - Thrice

A post-it is so non-threatening. It's not really art so I can relax and tell the left side of my brain to shut up. My best mug so far. (Inspired by a Craftsy Class on Sketchbooks art)

Mugged - Once

I'm trying to draw more often. Really I am. I think that if I could sketch a good mug I would feel better about my drawing skills. But they are a difficult subject - there is the ellipse thing, and the handle, and the rim, and the shading. A lot to master. Or maybe I'll just have to accept that I will never draw a good mug.

Anyways, be prepared for another series from me (DLP, What I'm wearing today, 30-day de-clutter, and now Mugged). A lot of juggling going on here.
